Minagi Shrine

A key location in the struggle between Hajirokumawashi and Empress Jingu.

Hajirokumawashi was a local warlord who caused trouble for the villagers of Akizuki. He was based foothills Mt. Kosho (former know as Notori no Tafure.

When Empress Jingu visited Kyushu the locals appealed for her assistance. She used her powers to empty the river and build a castle overnight. The name Minagi means “everything is wonderful” in reference to the beautiful view of the mountain, where the autumn leaves are particularly beautiful in November.
