A powerful memorial to lives lost in WWII.
The Peace Memorial Museum stands on a former military base, which became one of Japan’s key dispatch sites for kamikaze pilots in World War II. The memorial focuses on this tragic history and the young lives lost during this period.
The exhibition displays a number of aircraft, equipment, letters from pilots and videos of first hand accounts. The museum is also home to the only surviving A6M3 Zero (Type 32) fighter plane in the world.
English guidance is limited but there is some signage and a short pamphlet.
